This is the Tokyo Tower in all of its massiveness. I believe it is 350 meters tall or something along those lines. The first observation deck is 250 meters up. You take a sweet elevator ride up and once you get there, you can purchase another ticket to go up even higher. The regular ticket was 800 yen ( about 8$). The ticket to go up to the second deck was about 20$ and we decided to wait until another day to see that view. There were all kinds of shops and even a wax museum. There was a coffee shop at the first observation deck also. We ate at a place called PinkDot which is a fast-food waffle place. They make flavored waffles and put syrup and ice cream on them. Im pretty sure we have a picture but its not loaded in the computer yet.
Ah.... I really liked this. I think Dan would really really enjoy this also. Its a scale replica of where Tokyo Tower now stands. They began construction in 1957 and finished in 58, so this is what the area looked like in 1958. Very cool.
This was fun. Yes, they wear a lot of uniforms in Japan. This one is my favorite so far. Uniforms that is.
One of the Tokyo Skyline pictures we took. That IS a soccer field, true story. Unfortunately, Blogspot cuts off the soccer field so you can't even enjoy it. It would be in the bottom right corner.
This Creeper and his "brother" are the tower mascots..... I have no idea what they are suppose to be. The hello-kitty charter bus in the background was FANTASTIC! Whats up with the band-aid???
A night shot from the bottom.... I liked this angle the best. The tower lights change color at certain times and possibly for certain holidays. Sorry we didnt get a picture of it in a different color. Next time. Arigato!
